RAT CITY RESIDENT ARTIST

Each year the Rat City Arts Festival welcomes a local Allston Brighton artist to help design rat-themed artwork. You’ll see this year’s artist featured on our flyers, during the festival, and among some of our giveaways. We are extremely thankful to this year’s artist who has helped create a new brand for the Rat City Arts Festival! Check out this year’s Rat City Resident Artist and please support them in any way you can!

Aurora Whimsy

Aurora Whimsy bloomed during the early days of the pandemic cooped up in an attic apartment near Cleveland Circle with collages then pivoted to acrylic paintings of flowers which transformed to a challenge to paint one hundred frogs in the spirit of Georgia O'Keeffe's self-imposed venture to paint one hundred doors. As this endeavor continues, the opportunity to illustrate different cute little creatures has allowed the process in which art is created to expand while learning new skills such as watercolor and digital art. Although frogs will most likely always be the main source of inspiration, you will see Aurora Whimsy's metamorphosis continue. You can find the infamous frogs on instagram @AuroraWhimsy, AuroraWhimsy.com, or at The Brighton Bazaar.
